Get Your Unraid API Key
Use this guide to generate an API key for your Unraid server. The Flap Unraid app uses this key only on your device to connect directly to your server. We do not upload or collect your key.
Before you begin
- You have admin access to your Unraid web UI.
- Your server is reachable on the network where you will use the app.
- Use HTTPS if possible to avoid insecure endpoints.
Steps to generate an API key
- Sign in to the Unraid web UI as an administrator.
- Go to Settings → Management Access (or the API/Access section available in your Unraid version).
- Find the API Keys section and click “Add API Key” (or similar).
- Give the key a name (for example, “Flap Unraid Mobile”) and create it.
- Copy the generated API key and paste it into the Flap Unraid app when adding or editing your server.
- Keep this key private. Do not share it or store it in unsecured notes.
Managing or revoking keys
If you lose your device or suspect compromise, revoke the API key from the Unraid web UI and create a new one. Update the Flap Unraid app with the new key.
Security reminders
- Use HTTPS when your server supports it.
- Store the API key only inside the app; avoid screenshots or plain-text notes.
- Remove unused keys to reduce risk.
